Autocue’s Teleprompter Monitor
With the unique — literally, there’s only one in the world — IP-based prompting system, Aucotue’s new teleprompter monitor is light, using LED backlit technology to reduce weight and volume up to 25 percent. This 12-inch model follows the recent 17-inch and 20-inch models. It’s an all-inclusive package of intelligent teleprompting technology.
The Red EPIC
The Red EPIC has been put to use on major upcoming films such as the Spiderman reboot, The Great Gatsby, the Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit. It’s smaller than the popular ARRI ALEXA, which seems to be taking the place of RED ONE’s while the RED EPIC proves its value to the local market too. Its small size makes it perfect for 3D shoots.
Sound Devices PIX 240
The Sound Devices PIX 240 turned a few heads at Lemac’s SMPTE stand this year. This portable video recorder incorporates Quicktime recording, using Apple ProRes on Avid DNxHD to HDMI or HD-SDI capable high-def video camera. It records QuickTime files to CompactFlash cards or removable 2.5-inch solid-state hard drives.
Panasonic AG-HPX250 P2 HD Handheld Camcorder
The AG-HPX250 P2 HD Handheld Camcorder from Panasonic, released in September, is a world first as well, as a 4:2:2 10-bit handheld camcorder. It weighs 2.5kg, uses full HD 2.2 megapixel 3MOS sensor, a 20-bit digital sensor processor to acquire native 1920 x 1080 resolution images, and high-senility 1/3 type.
Dejero LIVE Platform
The Dejero LIVE Platform was among Adimex’s products. It’s prime to deliver ease of use and reduced expenses. There are no need for the use of outside broadcast vans with the Dejero LIVE Platform, as you can plug your broadcast camera straight into the portable Dejero Transmitter to encode and transmit your video right over cellular networks.
Sony had a lot of products on display — one of the groundbreaking cameras was the F65 CineAlta, which delivers a 20 megapixel 8K sensor CMOS sensor for 4K resolution. It has a 16-bit RAW output. The F65 certainly opens up possibilities for a completely mastered 4K workflow.
DaVinci Resolve Lite
Products like Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve lowering significantly in price have allowed the art of grading to be available to the public. Now, the new DaVinci Resolve Lite is opening it up even more — it’s going to become freely available for download. Like the full DaVinci Resolve, it offers full processing in high-quality, just with a few downgrades: projects are limited to HD or SD resolutions, one RED rocket card and one processing GPU, and two colour correction nodes.
