Predictions for Oscar's Best Animated Feature


The nominations for the 2013 Oscars is months away yet predictions have already started pouring in. Officially; the nominees will be announced on January 15th and so far there are several releases already vying for a spot in this category. It is still too early to tell however are over 15 films are set to be released in coming months.

Created in 2001, this is the youngest amongst all other Oscar categories.  Some may perceive this genre as being ridiculous and pointless even if the Academy is trying to pay tribute and merit under recognized work.

So without further ado; the following are the year’s best known and acknowledged releases in animation so far which a viable chance to compete for the exclusive Oscar Gold:

  1. Brave (Disney/Pixar)
  2. ParaNorman (Laika Entertainment)
  3. Rise of the Guardians (DreamWorks)
  4. Frankenweenie (Walk Disney Pictures)
  5. A Liar’s Autobiography – The Untrue Story of Monty Phython’s Graham Chapman (Bill and Ben Productions)
